Pool is restricted to LPOA Members only. Pool GUEST FEES..You may bring as a guest anyone not eligible for membership. A guest fee is charged at the pool. Guest fee for persons 2-8 years is $2.50; 9 years and older is $3.00. GUEST MAY NOT BE A RESIDENT OF LAKEWOOD. GUEST CARDS..are available for house guests who live outside Pulaski County for $5.00 per week. This card is for one continuous visit.

AQUATICS

LEARN-TO-SWIM PROGRAM: Register through Friday, May 30, 2008. All Learn-To-Swim programs are conducted at the Lakewood Pool on Crestwood Road.

Swimming Lessons

Classes to be taught:
(1) Lifeguard Training - May 11-16, 2009, weekdays 4:00-9:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. (including CPR and First Aid). Cetrification expires three years from completion.

(2) Lifeguard Training - CPR Renewal/Difibulator - May 17th, 2009 @ 1:00 p.m. Must be taken each year.

CONDITIONING SWIM (Lap Swimming) - Pool will be open with lifeguards 6:30-8:30 a.m., Wednesday only. Additional days will be added if needed. All people in the pool area must be at least 18 years old. Begins June 3, 2009. Adult swim time will be Tuesday & Thursday, 6:00-7:00 p.m. and begins June 16, 2009.

WATER AEROBICS - Contact the LPOA Office if you are interested in taking a water aerobics class on Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Must be 18 or older.

SWIM TEAMS

The LPOA swim team participates in a recreational swim league with other neighborhood pools known as the Central Arkansas Swim League (CASL). The Swim Team is designed to promote swimming enjoyment and provide an opportunity for the improvement of swimming skills in the context of a positive team experience.

The swim team has a Parent Board, which is appointed by the LPOA Board of Directors Swim Committee Chairman and serves as a liaison between the LPOA board and the swim team. You do not have to be an LPOA member to be a member of the swim team.

Participants in age group 4-6 must be able to swim 5-10 yards unassisted and one length of the pool with a kickboard. If you are 7-8 years of age you must be able to swim one length of the pool. All participants over the age of 8 must be able to swim two lengths of the pool. A basic knowledge of the different strokes is beneficial to the older swimmer. Most swim meets are held on Saturdays and begin at 8:00 AM.
